Artist Statement
"I have stayed in many places including periods in Australia, Greece, India, Africa and lived in France. Over the years and the many countries I have experienced it has always been the landscape and the light that have captured my imagination. My recent works are inspired by, the southern coast of England, and the west coast of Scotland. The Scottish weather that changes dramatically from one moment to the next to the softer breezes and calm of the West Sussex coast, long walks with my dogs, boat trips to the islands and hours spent simply looking at the British landscape. My latest pieces explore the flow of colour between land, sea and sky.
I draw and paint, thinking constantly of the landscape. Painting in situ or back in the studio. I am fascinated by colour, form and light and believe, as Morandi, that
