David
Shillinglaw's 'Figure 1’ and ‘Figure 2' are largely inspired by his street art
pieces, the use of the bold yellow and black immediately engages the observer,
by displaying nature’s warning colours. Nature is a common theme running
through David's work and beyond his brilliant use of colour is the figure
itself. David is known for his universal bodies, they have no gender, no age,
no race, no social status, they're not bound by any kind of label and are
limitless. What is important to David is the detailing within and around the
image, David describes this as the figure’s personality.
