A one-of-one original from Lauren Baker's Astral series: ink, wool and silk thread worked across fine art canvas, the threaded marks forming a portal shape that draws the eye inward to its quiet centre. The threaded pattern is inspired by tribal markings known as scarification, made during ceremonies which acknowledge rites of passage. The threaded marks form a portal shape, representing the path to higher states of consciousness which can be realised post ceremony. Emanating glows of subtle hues lead to the blank centre, relating to the journey of finding the 'light at the end of the tunnel', AKA inner wisdom. As a unique piece, never to be repeated, it sits at the rarest end of a series that also exists in a signed limited release. A related 2024 version, Astral Emanations Light, adds white neon to the same threaded composition.
