Simon Kirk | The Commuters

I used to live and work in London and part of my daily
commute was collecting the free paper and reading the news on the journey. I
was thinking recently about this ritual; how so many people are on
their way to a job they don't necessarily like, reading news that seems to
become more and more threatening and outlandish, deep underground but bathed in
harsh light, surrounded by thousands of other people but also completely
alone. I left the newspapers blank - the papers are interchangeable and
the news is replayed over and over again, day after day.
