A still from Light Frequency, an animated LED light artwork by British artist Lauren Baker. The image shows a perfect circle of glowing light in a slim dark rim: deep blue fills the top of the disc, melting through violet and soft magenta into a bright, almost white centre, before cooling into mint and aqua at the bottom. The gradient reads like a sky meeting the sea, inverted through the circle's centre. As an animated work, the colours drift and flow through shifting sequences rather than holding this single state, so this frame captures one moment of the piece's continuous, slow transformation. Another frame from Light Frequency, the animated LED artwork by British artist Lauren Baker. In this moment of its sequence, the circular disc holds a gentler, sunnier state than the deeper violet frame in the previous image: rich blue fills the top, easing through bright cyan into a broad band of warm cream and soft gold across the lower half, with a whisper of lavender blooming at the bottom right edge. The gradient reads like a calm daybreak, sky fading into sunlit sand. In the animated work these colours continue to drift and flow, so this still captures one passing state of the piece's slow, seamless transformation. Lauren Baker | Light Frequency
A gallery installation photograph showing Light Frequency, the circular LED artwork by British artist Lauren Baker, hung alone on a large white wall. In this moment of its sequence, the disc glows in a warm state: vivid pink and magenta across the top, softening through cream and pale gold in the centre, then cooling into a band of turquoise at the bottom, all held within its slim dark rim. The surrounding space is minimal, with a pale concrete floor, recessed ceiling lights and two dark columns framing the view, so the glowing circle reads as the single luminous presence in the room. The shot demonstrates the work's presence at scale and how it transforms a space, true to its description as a centrepiece. Lauren Baker | Light Frequency | On Wall
A gallery installation photograph showing Light Frequency, the circular LED artwork by British artist Lauren Baker, hung centrally on a white wall above a long, low dark wooden plinth. In this moment of its sequence, the disc glows in its most saturated state: hot magenta and pink flood the upper half, drifting through apricot toward a band of turquoise at the bottom, all contained by the slim black rim. Track lighting runs along the ceiling above, and the pale concrete floor reflects a little of the piece's glow. The composition, artwork hovering above the dark plinth, makes the circle read like a sun or portal, demonstrating how the work commands a room even alongside minimal furnishings. In this moment of its sequence, the disc glows in a soft gradient of sky blue above and warm cream below, its dark rim reading like an eclipse against the white wall. Beneath it, a low white curved sofa, a glass and brass coffee table, a cream boucle ottoman and a mid-century wooden armchair furnish the room in a calm neutral palette, with daylight coming through sheer curtains at the right. The shot shows the work's scale above the seating and how it acts as the room's luminous focal point.

Light Frequency is a living surface: a circular field of LED light on aluminium that radiates through seamless gradients of colour, inspired by the colours of sky and earth. The work is not a fixed image but a sequence, waves of luminous energy that shift and shimmer across the disc in slow, atmospheric motion, so the piece is never seen the same way twice. The logic of the work is frequency itself. Light is Baker's primary material, and here it is harnessed through contemporary technology: an LED panel driven by a control unit plays a uniquely created video sequence within the circular form, the circle evoking both the celestial bodies of her Immensity of the Universe works and the energy fields of her chakra-inspired pieces. The piece follows her Frequency of Light works of 2018, translating the unseen frequencies of the cosmos into something the eye can rest within. Merging technology with imagination and wonder, Light Frequency is both radiant and uplifting: a centrepiece designed to transform a space, bringing the slow movement of sky and earth indoors.Measuring 110 cm in diameter and 16 cm deep, the circular aluminium body holds its own on a wall like a window or a rising moon. A unique work, with its bespoke control unit included. £16,000.
