Nick Veasey: British X-Ray Photographer

Nick Veasey is a British contemporary photographer and visual artist known for pioneering X-ray photography, radiographic imaging and science-based contemporary art. Born in London in 1962, Veasey transforms industrial X-ray technology into fine-art photography, exposing the hidden structures of everyday objects, machines, flowers and the human form.

Contemporary X-Ray Art and Hidden Structures

Veasey’s X-ray artwork reveals what lies beneath the surface of familiar objects. His contemporary photography explores cars, aeroplanes, flowers, shoes, handbags, fashion objects, musical equipment, skeletons and popular cultural figures. By replacing external appearance with internal structure, his fine-art X-rays challenge ideas of beauty, identity, function and material reality.

Science, Technology and Fine-Art Photography

Working with specialist radiographic equipment, scientists and technical collaborators, Nick Veasey produces large-scale X-ray photographs, Diasec artworks, lightboxes, lenticular prints and digital compositions. His limited-edition photography includes works such as Examination of Rat Pack II, Land Rover Surfer, Poker, Pinarello Rider and VW Camper Family. The work combines scientific precision with conceptual photography, revealing the engineering and hidden beauty of the world around us.
