MIRIAM FITZGERALD JUSKOVA | ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Miriam Fitzgerald Juskova: Contemporary Paper Artist
Miriam Fitzgerald Juskova is a Slovakian-born, Ireland-based contemporary artist known for original three-dimensional paper art, geometric paper sculpture and colourful mathematical artwork. Working with her distinctive “Paper On Edge” technique, she transforms hand-cut and folded paper into intricate contemporary wall art inspired by geometry, symmetry, sequence and architectural form.
Geometric Paper Art and Paper Quilling
Juskova combines the traditional craft of paper quilling with contemporary geometric abstraction. Her handmade paper sculptures are carefully designed, cut, folded and glued to create depth, texture, movement and optical rhythm. Each work is based on mathematical relationships and may incorporate rotation, repetition, symmetry, polygons and Platonic shapes.
Mathematics, Colour and Contemporary Wall Sculpture
Series including Reflexions and Perspective explore mirrored forms, colour relationships, balance and visual perception. Bright paper strips are arranged into layered geometric compositions that appear to shift as the viewer moves around them. Juskova’s contemporary paper artworks connect mathematical precision with handmade craftsmanship, creating tactile abstract art for collectors, interiors and modern gallery spaces.
Irish-Based Artist with an International Profile
Juskova studied Furniture Design and Manufacturing at the Technical University of Zvolen in Slovakia before working as a civil engineer in Ireland. Her technical background informs the structural precision of her geometric paper sculpture. Her original paper art, limited-edition giclée prints and contemporary wall pieces have been exhibited in Ireland, the United Kingdom, the United States and Switzerland, with representation including Laura Rathe Fine Art, Woolff Gallery and Gallery Zozimus.
