“Once In a Lifetime” is a celebration of the exuberant
Post Punk & New Wave revolution of the 1970’s-80’s. An era where musicians
and artists / designers were intrinsically
linked and who produced the most remarkable and striking
graphic art. This strong graphic identity seemed to be a perfect intersection
of music and the visual arts, one which greatly resonated with Steve during his
art college years and one which has left a lasting impression on his style and
approach to image making the work references many of his favourites from his
own personal record collection. From the post punk CBGB staples of Talking
Heads (who lend this piece it’s title) Blondie and The Clash to the New wave of,
The Smiths and The Cure and Kraftwerk … A beautiful pop art mash up of the
rebellious era’s music ephemera.
