This is a contemporary portrait completed in acrylic, spray paint, collage and oil paint. The face and ground are built up over many layers, the features starkly defined in some areas and dissolving into paint in others. Figurative and abstract play out to give an almost glass-reflected feel to what is seen on canvas.

Toni is drawn to the unfathomable pieces of living and emotions, things beyond our description and understanding; it almost feels as if the space between breaths, between moments, between words can be opened out to reveal a new world. The silent moments, the less spoken about, can be the most powerful.
