Thinking about our place in the world, how we live authentically and connected to our lives, and how to find "our place in the family of things" as Mary Oliver put it in one of Toni's favourite poems Wild Geese.
This is a contemporary figurative painting with layers of acrylic, collage and oil paint. Areas of mark making and collage fuse with delicately painted areas of the face and Toni focuses on finding the balance between the two.
A solitary tree and a solitary figure, 'One' finds a solace and completeness in quiet, reflective moments. Often moments of reflection and introspection can bring a deeper understanding of us and the world around us.
