This is a contemporary figurative painting with layers of acrylic and watercolour wash alternating with layers of collage. Toni focuses on light and shadow on the face allowing paint washes and collage to merge with it in a more abstract sense.
Always thinking about our inner and outer lives, with this particular piece Toni was pulled to how our own emotional cycles can orbit other people's, and vice versa; how we can find resonance with people at different points in time.
