A pink neon artwork by British artist Lauren Baker titled Expect Miracles. The words 'Expect Miracles' are bent in flowing, handwritten neon script in a single horizontal line, the lettering loose and personal, as if jotted on a notepad and then set alight. The pale pink tubes glow hot at their centres and cast a soft rose halo across the white aluminium tray behind them, the light pooling and fading toward the panel's edges. The casual handwriting keeps the mantra from feeling like a slogan; it reads instead as a note to self, a small daily instruction written in light. The wide, low format suits its placement above a bed, a doorway or a desk, where the words will be met eye-level, every day. Lauren Baker | Expect Miracles
A daylight view of Expect Miracles, the neon artwork by British artist Lauren Baker, photographed with the tubes switched off. The handwritten script 'Expect Miracles' is visible as clear glass tubing bent into flowing cursive, standing off the white aluminium tray on small mounts, each letter's curves and joins legible in a way the glow hides when the piece is lit. The tubes cast soft, duplicated shadows across the pale tray surface, revealing the piece's physical depth and the craft of the neon bender's hand. The photograph shows the work as an object of glass and metal as well as light, the same words that glow pink in darkness reading here as a quiet drawing on a white field. Lauren Baker | Expect Miracles | Unlit
An angled photograph of Expect Miracles, the neon artwork by British artist Lauren Baker, taken against darkness. The three-quarter view shows the white aluminium tray as a physical object, its depth visible along the right edge, with the handwritten pink neon script 'Expect Miracles' glowing across its face. The tubes stand off the panel on their mounting posts, their hot pink cores radiating a rose glow that washes the tray's surface and bleeds softly beyond its edges into the dark room. The angle makes clear how the piece works in a space: not a flat print but a light-emitting object that colours the wall around it. Set against black, the mantra reads like a sign for a late-night diner or a motel promise, warm, direct and impossible to miss. Lauren Baker | Expect Miracles | Side View

Expect Miracles is a mantra in pink neon: two words, handwritten in glowing pink glass and mounted on a white aluminium box tray, that work less as a statement than as an instruction to the subconscious. The piece belongs to Baker's Expect family of neons, which began with Expect Magic and Miracles, first installed outside the Rosewood London hotel on High Holborn in 2020 to pass its message to everyone who walked by. The thinking behind the family is laid out in the artist's own text for its sibling work: we are bombarded with thousands of messages every day, and research suggests around 80% of our thoughts are negative, with 12,000 to 50,000 thoughts passing through a mind daily. Baker's neons aim to inject positive thoughts that seep into the subconscious and start a thread of high-frequency consciousness. Expect Miracles carries that intention in its most concentrated form: not a sentence but a stance, the two words that turn an ordinary room into a place where good things are allowed to happen. The warm pink glow against the clean white tray keeps the message optimistic rather than preachy, light doing what light does best in her practice, raising the vibration. Pink neon mounted on a white aluminium box tray, edition of 6, signed by the artist. £4,500.
