Rather than a fixed image, the work is an experience that shifts with you: one moment a composition, the next another emerging through it, the paintings flickering and dissolving like states of mind.The lenticular form is the message. Baker uses the medium's inherent change to embody her theme of new beginnings, the threshold between what was and what comes next. As the four paintings cross over each other, the work asks the viewer to surrender to the unknown, to release the fixed image and trust what appears in its place.
