many pieces at once I stand back and let each one rest in between intense bursts of activity on the
canvas, moving on to the next. The traces of these sessions in the studio are
captured in the layers of the painting, telling their own story. The pieces
'Wing-borne' and 'Finding Light' are rendered in a subtle way and were made alongside larger
pieces dense in colour; these two
paintings held the space of wings and light in air perfectly amidst the chaos in the studio." Toni Cogdell
