Why Their Work Resonates

  • Rooted in mindfulness and meditation, each brushstroke captures presence and stillness.
  • Uses authentic materials like Indian ink, rice paper, and copper leaf for integrity and depth.
  • Exhibited internationally, from London Art Fair to SCOPE Miami, with works in global collections.
  • Creates a calm visual language that invites reflection in today’s fast-paced world.

"I approach my work with the intention of creating work that is about exploring and recording an act of creation, a time of being fully present in the moment. Capturing it through the ink being held by the fibres of the paper. They become acts of meditation as I repetitively rehearse the gestures to embody with the breath a flow of movement. Like choreography. I rehearse for spontaneity. Allowing the work to exist without judgement, fear of attachment. I believe the intention and energy within my work is shared with the viewer. Enabling them to receive the chance to pause in front of the work, connect with the breath and observe. There is a whole lot of ugly in the world at the moment and we are busy living through this. Art has the opportunity to be the pause, the beauty, to bring joy or to calm the soul." - Rod McIntosh
