Inspired by the opulent grottos of extravagant aristocrats, the flamboyant embodiment of microscopic life, the mysterious communication patterns of coral, Emerson uses her theatrical sensibility to create windows into hidden worlds.
artists studio, once captured it is layered on top either using screen print or
photo etching technique. Her latest works use mono printed backgrounds,
which utilise, hand inked flowers which are wheeled through the printing press,
making each print totally unique, the final layer is a hand applied 22 cut gold
leaf.
Embracing an unapologetically feminine aesthetic, her works shimmer
and dance, adorned with flowers and embellished like a palace
ballroom. Ethereal figures take centre stage surrounded by organic
beauty, become living ecosystems in their own right.
