Do You Want To Change The World With Me? is a question posed in light. In pink neon script arranged across a 100 cm circular Perspex panel, the words curve inside the circle like a thought held in an orbit, an invitation and a question at once. The artist's own text for the work names its intention: the artwork poses a question, it's an invitation, and it is intended to activate your soul's higher purpose for the greater good. The piece was born public. Commissioned for Kensington and Chelsea Art Week and installed at Duke of York Square, then shown in Connaught Village during the festival of public light works that carried her messages through the streets of Westminster, it was made to be met by strangers, ahead of the Cop 26 climate conference, as a direct question and invitation to inspire the higher purpose of the viewer's soul. That public origin is legible in the work's grammar: the question is addressed to you, in the second person, and it asks for company rather than agreement. In pink, Baker's colour of warmth and the heart, the challenge softens into an outstretched hand. Whether in a public square or above the desk where your own decisions get made, the neon holds the question open: not will you, but will you do it with someone. Pink neon mounted on Perspex, diameter 100 cm. Signed and numbered from an edition of 6. £12,000.
