A pink neon artwork by British artist Lauren Baker titled What If. The neon is bent in a loose, handwritten script across four lines, reading: 'What if it all turns out better than you could have ever imagined?' The pale neon tubes glow against a soft pink halo of light cast onto the wall behind, the question mark hanging at the end of the last line. The casual handwriting makes the words feel like a personal note rather than a sign, and the glow turns the question into a warm, hopeful presence on the wall. Lauren Baker | What If
A styled interior photograph showing What If, a pink neon artwork by British artist Lauren Baker, hung on a textured grey plaster wall in a contemporary living room. The neon script reads 'What if it all turns out better than you could have ever imagined?', its pink glow radiating across the mounted panel. Below it sits a large cream modular sofa with scattered cushions and a low dark coffee table, the room lit softly by daylight from the side. The shot shows the scale of the work in relation to the furniture and how its warm pink glow sits within a neutral, minimal interior. Lauren Baker | What If | In Situ
A close-up, angled view of What If, the pink neon artwork by British artist Lauren Baker. The photograph looks across the surface of the white aluminium tray at the hand-bent neon tubes, their glass forms glowing hot pink where the light is densest and fading to softer rose where it spreads. The tubes rise from the panel on small mounts and clear standoffs, and the handwritten loops of the letters curve in and out of focus across the frame. The angle shows the work's physical depth: these are glass tubes standing proud of the surface, not a flat print, with the light pooling and reflecting on the tray beneath. A styled interior photograph showing What If, the pink neon artwork by British artist Lauren Baker, hung on a pale white wall above a low, dark sideboard. The neon script reads 'What if it all turns out better than you could have ever imagined?', its pink glow forming a bright halo against the white panel behind it. On the sideboard beneath, a collection of pale ceramic vases and vessels and a stack of bowls sit quietly in shadow, the dark wood of the cabinet grounding the glow above. The arrangement shows how the piece anchors a room, the neon acting as the warm focal point above a calm, neutral styling. Lauren Baker | What If | On Wall

What if you walked away from certainty, followed the impulse, booked the ticket, started the project, trusted the fall, and it all turned out better than you ever imagined? Written in glowing pink neon and mounted on a white aluminium box tray, What If turns a question into a mantra. The work doesn't answer; it holds the door open, and each line of the neon reads as one more step through it. The piece sits in Baker's lineage of typographic neon works, where language becomes light and light becomes belief, following works such as Choose Love and Everything Is Going To Be Fucking Amazing. Where those pieces make statements, What If makes an invitation: its power is the interrogative mood, the small "what" that turns a life sideways. The pink glow carries warmth and optimism, and against the clean white tray the words seem to float free of the wall, closer to thought than to object. Handmade in neon glass and mounted in a white aluminium box tray, the work measures 88 x 115 x 8 cm, its scale generous enough to hold the full question on a single wall. Signed and numbered from an edition of 6. £12,000.
