Toni writes in her exhibition statement "– the wings are always in motion, they turn from moment to moment. It is a strange thing to state: life informs my art and art teaches me how to live. And always, this force, this flood. The wanting of things out of reach, a need to make something from nothing, a creative hunger that’s hard to separate from the human." This painting seeks to capture this. The oscillating between ideas, thoughts and moments, between art and life. The motion towards the things we love. Pieces from her own life and experience always weave their way in to her paintings - like the bunting flags in this piece which line the sea front harbour of St.Ives.
