This is a large scale contemporary portrait in acrylic, spray paint and oil, focusing on a contrast between dark and light to capture emotion. Areas of delicately detailed and layered realism counterbalance areas of abstract washes and mark making.

Beneath the surface is a river, our consciousness, always in motion. Its waters flow and shift with our lived moments; some dissolve, some remain, and we shift, we are shaped and reshaped, the undertow always looking to flood into our daily life. Art is the bridge.
