Iphis is a shadow sculpture designed for your garden. By day, her angular, fragmented form carries a striking industrial  presence. As darkness falls, Iphis reveals her true nature: a lovers duet gracefully illuminated in the stark contrast of a garden in darkness. Iphis draws from the myth of Iphis and Ianthe. A love tested by the limits of the world. In this work, their plea lingers in the space between two shadowed figures. They rise in unison, bodies arched and arms lifted upward, reaching beyond themselves in a shared act of prayer. Their gestures mirror one another; open, searching, full of longing, held in a suspended duet. They are close, almost touching, yet the embrace is not yet theirs.
