Anna Marrow Artist Biography
Anna Marrow is a celebrated British artist, printmaker and illustrator, known for her bold screenprints and vibrant mixed-media artworks. Working in Bristol, she has developed a distinctive artistic style over more than 20 years that merges nostalgic childhood memory with surreal, urban narratives and pop-influenced design. Her eye-catching work combines saturated colour, intricate linework and unexpected characters to transform mundane objects into extraordinary, compelling compositions.
Education & Artistic Practice
Anna’s creative journey began with formal training in Fine Art at UWE Bristol, followed by an MA in Communication Design (Illustration) with distinction from Central Saint Martins, London. She specialises in screen printing, drawing and collage, using household paints, biros, fine liners and pencil crayons to create her original prints and illustrations. Each piece usually evolves from detailed biro drawings in her sketchbook into layered collages and rich silkscreen prints.

Anna’s work stands out for its mix of Pop Art, fantasy art and street art influences, blending everyday urban and suburban landscapes with exotic creatures, retro objects and whimsical characters. Drawing inspiration from 1970s memorabilia such as vintage televisions, radios and cars, her prints evoke a powerful sense of nostalgia while exploring architecture and playful storytelling. Her art often celebrates movement, colour and humour, with figures diving, flying or synchronising against dynamic backdrops that feel both familiar and wonderfully strange.
