"This piece was inspired by the walks I take
around the local beauty spots. Back in the studio when I begin to paint I
recollect where I have been, how it made me feel and my paintings then take on
the space that is between the reality and my daydreams. I paint in oils as I
can take time to merge and blend the colours, creating new colours directly
onto the canvas. I hope the viewer can get absorbed into the depth of the
