Whether you’re looking to bring colour to your business premises or want to invest in some of the contemporary art world’s rising stars, you’ll find the perfect piece at the company’s two Essex sites.

Our Chelmsford and Shenfield art galleries

Although our galleries are located within easy reach of London, they’re far from the hustle and bustle of the capital.

Our Chelmsford art gallery is housed in a converted barn, set on a 3,000-acre farm. It’s a peaceful haven where you can discover works by an array of artists.

The locations are also used to hold regular exhibitions, including the recent A Million Shades of Grey by Mr Controversial. He restores, reworks and reappropriates vintage, 1950s imagery for a modern, digital audience.

In contrast, our Shenfield art gallery on Hutton Road is a stylish, white-walled space located in a charming retail suburb. Pop out for a coffee, go home with a stunning original artwork for your Essex home.

Established and emerging artists

The artists featured in both our Essex art galleries may cover many different genres, but they’re all breathtakingly talented.

Among them is British artist Dan Baldwin, who counts Damien Hirst among his admirers and buyers. Dan’s silkscreen prints are both abstract and figurative, featuring recurring motifs and exploring some of life’s biggest questions. He has exhibited across the UK, as well as the US and Paris.

Toni Cogdell’s startling figurative portraits seek to probe the intangible substance of the psyche and human condition.

She says: “I am on a pursuit to make contemporary portraits that dig beneath the skin to swim in our consciousness, to reveal our stories and the marks we make on ours and others’ lifelines, the traces of ourselves we give, revisit and leave behind.”

In colourful contrast, Kev Munday follows in the footsteps of Hieronymus Bosch to produce scenes that are richly detailed with humans, animals, creatures and objects. His works are an exaggeration and celebration of the ordinary.

Jason Keeley’s dynamic, unique human forms are inspired by dance and movement. “For me, movement and music, in unison, create a very powerful and emotional language,” he says.

His works are created using a mixture of photographic and computer skills he has honed over two decades, and never fail to evoke a vibrant emotional response from viewers.

Claire Newman Williams’ pieces have been described as “haunting” and “filmic”. Drawing on a range of inspirations, from Rembrandt to the music of Lucinda Williams, she uses analogue and digital cameras for her photography, before adding text, old objects or textures to create the finished piece.
